Healthcare SEO Australia
Australian healthcare marketing runs on a shorter leash than most sectors: the testimonials that carry other service businesses are not available to a regulated practice. What is left is being genuinely easier to find, easier to understand and easier to book than the practice down the road. We build that, on forms that treat health information as health information. We are a Malaysia-based team serving a global client base: English-first, priced in AUD, and on Australian working hours.

The Blockers SEO Fixes for Australian Healthcare Practices
Reaching For Testimonials Anyway
A review counts as a testimonial if it expresses a symptom, a diagnosis or treatment, or an outcome, and outcome includes the skills or experience of the practitioner. That is a wider net than most practices assume, and a review wall is the most common way a practice site crosses it. We rebuild the evidence around practitioner credentials, scope and access instead, which is what a patient is actually assessing.
Triage Questions On A Contact Form
A form asking why the patient is booking is collecting health information, and most practice sites route it through the same generic handler as a general enquiry. The Australian Privacy Principles expect a collection notice and reasonable security, which is a build decision, not a policy paragraph.
Fees That Stop At The Headline
Publishing a consultation figure without the out-of-pocket or the after-hours loading leaves the prominent number smaller than the real one. Patients experience that as a surprise at reception, and it is exactly what the single price requirement addresses.
One Page For Every Service
Patients search for the specific thing they need, not for the practice category. Separate pages for the services you want more of, written in the words patients use rather than clinical terminology, are usually the fastest visibility available.
No Answer To Can I Get In
Availability is the deciding factor for a patient who cannot see their usual practitioner, and most practice sites never address it. Stating current availability, and making booking work on a phone at night, converts better than any amount of positioning.
The Patient Who Went Elsewhere
Do nothing and the patient who could not tell whether you were taking new patients, or what the visit would cost, simply books somewhere that said. Nothing about that appears in a report; the appointment book is just slightly less full than it should be.
How We Do Healthcare SEO in Australia

S+P — Scan & Pinpoint
We audit the site against the advertising restrictions first, because a page that has to come down later is wasted work. Then we look at where enquiry and booking data goes, how fees are presented, and which services patients search for that you have no page for.

E — Execute & Optimize
A page per service in patient language, practitioner pages carrying real credentials and scope, fee presentation that totals honestly, and booking and triage forms built as health information collection with a notice and a defined destination.

F+L — Fund & Launch
Effort goes to the services with capacity, not the ones with the most search volume. Where a practice is already at capacity for a service we say so and move the work to the ones with room, rather than generating demand you cannot serve.

U+X — Understand & Scale
We report new patient bookings by service in AUD, not rankings. Additional locations or practitioners are added once existing capacity converts, so growth stays attributable and clinically manageable.
Introducing
Why Conversion Intelligence for Healthcare SEO in Australia?
Each year, almost nine in 10 Australians visit a GP, and in 2022 more than 22 million Australians did. Demand is not what a practice is short of. What patients are short of is a clear answer to whether they can be seen, by whom, and what it will cost.
Access is the live problem: 32.8% of people couldn’t see their preferred GP on at least one occasion during the year. Every one of those is a patient actively looking for an alternative, at a moment when the practice that is easiest to understand and book wins by default. That is the search opportunity, and it is not a testimonial problem.

What Australian Regulation Allows a Practice to Say
Healthcare marketing in Australia is narrower than most sectors, and the narrowing is deliberate. A practice that treats it as a constraint on tactics rather than on claims usually ends up rebuilding pages after a complaint.
Testimonials about clinical care are not available to you
Section 133(1)(c) of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law prohibits advertising a regulated health service, or a business that provides one, in a way that uses testimonials or purported testimonials about the service or business. The National Law does not define testimonial, so the national boards use its ordinary meaning: a positive statement about the clinical aspects of the service. A clinical aspect exists where a review expresses a symptom, a diagnosis or treatment, or an outcome, and outcome expressly includes the skills or experience of the practitioner, directly or by comparison.
Comments about customer service or communication style that make no reference to clinical aspects are not testimonials for this purpose, so wait times, reception, parking and ease of booking remain available to you. Responsibility sits with whoever controls the advertising: your own website and your practice’s social media are yours, and where a platform will not allow a review to be removed the guidelines point to disabling the reviews function. You are not responsible for removing reviews from platforms you do not control, or from sites that are not advertising a regulated health service, though engaging with those reviews can itself amount to using a testimonial. Since 2022 the maximum penalty for an advertising offence has been $60,000 for an individual and $120,000 for a body corporate, applying in every jurisdiction since July 2024.
Health information is the most sensitive category you will collect
The Australian Privacy Principles require an entity to manage personal information openly and transparently with a clearly expressed and up to date privacy policy under Australian Privacy Principle 1, to tell a person about certain matters at the point of collection under Australian Privacy Principle 5, and to take reasonable steps under Australian Privacy Principle 11 to protect what it holds from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. A symptom-based enquiry form, an online triage question or a booking field asking why the patient is coming in is collecting health information, and it should be built accordingly rather than routed through a generic contact form.
If you publish a fee, publish the fee
Where a price is displayed it must be the total as a single figure, the minimum a patient could pay, including unavoidable charges, and a component shown cannot be more prominent than the total. For a practice that means the consultation fee, any out-of-pocket after the rebate, and the after-hours or weekend loading belong together. Practices that publish a low headline fee and explain the gap at reception are creating both a compliance question and the complaint that follows it.

Healthcare SEO Australia: Frequently Asked Questions
Can we put patient reviews on our practice website?
Not where they touch the clinical aspects of care. Section 133(1)(c) of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law prohibits advertising that uses testimonials or purported testimonials about the service or business, and a review is clinical if it expresses a symptom, a diagnosis or treatment, or an outcome, with outcome including the practitioner’s skills or experience. Comments confined to customer service, wait times, parking or ease of booking are not testimonials. Responsibility follows control, so your site and your practice’s social media are yours to manage.
What replaces testimonials as evidence?
Practitioner credentials and scope stated plainly, the conditions and procedures you actually handle, current availability, and fees a patient can total before they arrive. Those are the things a patient is comparing anyway, and none of them require a review.
Is a booking form collecting health information?
If it asks why the patient is coming in, yes. That triggers a collection notice at the point of collection and reasonable steps to protect what you hold from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, which means a defined destination and access list rather than a generic contact handler.
Do we have to publish our fees?
Not necessarily, but if you publish one it must be the total as a single figure including unavoidable charges, and no component can be more prominent than the total. The out-of-pocket after a rebate and any after-hours loading belong in that figure rather than at reception.
How much does healthcare SEO cost in Australia?
From AUD 1,600 per month, plus an AUD 990 audit, based on Australian market rates less 20%. Practices already at capacity are usually better served by a one-off teardown than a retainer, and we will tell you that rather than sell one.
Do you work with Australian practices remotely?
Yes. We are a Malaysia-based team serving a global client base, English-first and priced in AUD, and we overlap the Australian working day so changes land inside your clinic week.
